Advanced Scalp Microneedling
Hair thinning, density loss, and changes to scalp condition are some of the most quietly distressing things women experience, particularly in their late 30s and 40s when hormones shift, life gets busy, and the scalp environment hasn't had the same care the face has. Advanced scalp microneedling works at the root of that, using controlled stimulation and regenerative techniques to improve the condition of the scalp itself and create a healthier environment for hair to grow from.
What it treats:
Thinning hair and reduced density
Postpartum, hormonal, or stress-related hair loss
Poor scalp condition (dry, oily, congested, or inflamed)
Weak hair growth environment
Scalp tension or general scalp health concerns
Outcomes you can expect:
Healthier, more balanced scalp condition
Improved follicular environment
Stronger-looking, denser hair appearance over time
Better scalp hydration and resilience
A foundation for long-term hair and scalp health

Clients building a long-term scalp and hair health plan
It's one of the most underserved treatments on the menu and one of the most effective for the right person. As with everything at SKN Rx, we assess first to make sure it's the right step.
What clients usually ask
Is scalp microneedling painful?
The scalp is more sensitive than facial skin, but a topical numbing cream is applied before treatment to make it comfortable. You may feel a light prickling sensation in places, but it's well tolerated by most clients.
How quickly will I see results?
Hair and scalp work slowly because of natural growth cycles. Most clients notice improvements in scalp condition first, within a few weeks, with visible changes to hair density typically appearing from 6 to 8 weeks and continuing to build over the course of treatment.
Is it suitable for all hair types and skin tones?
Yes. The treatment works with the scalp's own biology and is suitable across all Fitzpatrick skin types and all hair types and textures.
How many sessions will I need?
A standard course is 3 to 6 sessions depending on your scalp condition and goals. We confirm the right number at consultation based on what your scalp actually needs, not a fixed protocol.
Can I wash my hair after treatment?
Not for the first 24 hours. After that, gentle hair washing is fine. Detailed aftercare is provided after your appointment.
What to expect after treatment
Day 0 Treatment day The scalp may feel tender and slightly sensitive for the rest of the day. Avoid touching the area, wearing hats, or applying products to the scalp.
Days 1–2 Mild sensitivity continues. Gentle hair washing can resume after 24 hours. Avoid heat styling and harsh products.
Days 3–7 Sensitivity resolves. Scalp may feel slightly stimulated or tingly as it begins to respond. Return to your usual hair care routine.
Weeks 2–4 Scalp condition starts to improve. Reduced flakiness, irritation, or oiliness depending on the original concern. The follicular environment begins to shift.
Weeks 6–8 First visible changes to hair appearance. Density may look improved and individual hairs may feel stronger. The optimal window for the next session.
3 to 6 months Full effect of the course is visible. Healthier scalp, denser-looking hair, improved hair quality. Maintenance sessions typically every few months.
If hair thinning or scalp condition is something you've quietly been worrying about, the consultation is where we work out the right way to address it.
