Dermalux® LED Light Therapy

LED therapy is one of the most quietly powerful tools in regenerative skincare. It doesn't break the surface or push the skin to respond. It uses specific wavelengths of light to support how the skin already heals, recovers, and rebuilds. At SKN Rx, Dermalux® LED is used both as a preparation tool for skin that isn't quite ready for stimulation, and as a recovery and enhancement tool alongside other treatments.

What Dermalux® LED treats:

Who this is for

Dermalux® LED suits clients whose skin needs to be calmed and strengthened before it can be stimulated, and those wanting to enhance the results of regenerative treatments.

  • Sensitive, reactive, or compromised skin

  • Skin recovering from microneedling, polynucleotides, or Profhilo®

  • Anyone with ongoing redness, inflammation, or a barrier that needs support

  • Clients who want a gentle, evidence-based step into skin treatment

  • Those building a long-term skin health plan rather than chasing a quick fix

At SKN Rx, LED is rarely used in isolation forever. It's a stepping stone that prepares the skin for more, and supports it once treatment begins.

What clients usually ask

Does Dermalux® LED actually work?

Yes. Dermalux® is a medical-grade LED device backed by clinical research. The wavelengths used are proven to support cellular function, reduce inflammation, and accelerate healing. It works best with consistency.

Is it suitable for all skin types?

Generally yes. The red and near-infrared wavelengths used most often at SKN Rx are safe and effective across all Fitzpatrick skin types, including sensitive, reactive, and rosacea-prone skin. Blue light, used specifically for acne, is approached more carefully with melasma-prone or pigmentation-sensitive skin. As with everything at SKN Rx, the protocol is matched to your skin, not the reverse.

How quickly will I see results?

Some effects, particularly calming and reduced redness, are noticeable after one session. Cumulative improvement in skin quality, healing, and resilience develops over a course of sessions, typically a minimum of six.

Is the treatment uncomfortable?

No. LED is completely non-invasive. You'll lie back with protective goggles on while the light works. Most clients find the session deeply relaxing.

Can I have LED alongside other treatments?

Yes, it's actually one of the most effective ways to use it. LED is often paired with microneedling, polynucleotides, or Profhilo® to support recovery and enhance the result

What to expect during and after treatment

During treatment You'll lie back with protective goggles. The light panel is positioned close to the skin and you'll feel gentle warmth. The session lasts around 20 to 30 minutes.

Immediately after No downtime. Skin may feel slightly warm and look subtly brighter. You can return to normal activities immediately, including makeup and skincare.

Over a course of sessions Results build cumulatively. Skin becomes calmer, more resilient, and recovers better from environmental stress and treatment. Best results come from regular sessions over 4 to 6 weeks.

If your skin needs calming, strengthening, or supporting before its next phase of treatment, the consultation is where we work that out.
