Who this is for
Polynucleotides are most effective for clients whose skin has quietly lost something, quality, resilience, or recovery, and who want a meaningful change without altering their features.
Skin that feels thinner than it used to
Under-eyes that look tired regardless of sleep
Skin that's become reactive, slow to recover, or lost its resilience
Fine lines and texture changes you can feel before you can see
Clients who want results without filler, volume, or anything that changes the way they look
Polynucleotides aren't a trend. They're a considered tool, and at SKN Rx they're used as part of a sequenced approach, once the skin is stable and ready to respond.
What clients usually ask
Are polynucleotides the same as filler?
No. Polynucleotides don't add volume or change the structure of your face. They work at a cellular level, signalling repair and improving how the skin holds hydration over time. The change is gradual and shows up as better skin quality, not visible change to your features.
Are they suitable for all skin tones?
Yes. Polynucleotides work with the skin's own biology rather than against it, which means they're suitable across all Fitzpatrick skin types with very low risk of pigmentation issues.
How quickly will I see results?
The change is gradual, not immediate. Most clients notice improvement from around four to six weeks, with continued change building over the course of a treatment plan. They're a long-term skin quality tool, not a quick fix.
Is the treatment painful?
A topical numbing cream can be applied before treatment, which makes most clients comfortable throughout. You may feel some pressure or mild discomfort during injection, but it's well tolerated.
Is there any downtime?
Minimal. You may have mild swelling or small bumps at the injection sites for 24 to 48 hours, which usually settle quickly. Most clients return to normal life the same day.
What to expect after treatment
A clear day-by-day guide to how your skin will look and feel as it recovers and rebuilds.
Day 0 Treatment day. Small bumps may be visible at injection sites and there may be slight swelling. Skin will feel tender. Detailed aftercare protocol provided after your appointment.
Days 1–2 Mild swelling or visible bumps may continue. Most settle within 48 hours. Avoid makeup over injection sites and skip exercise.
Days 3–5 Bumps and swelling resolve. Skin feels normal again. You can return to your usual skincare routine.
Weeks 2–4 First subtle changes start to show. Skin feels more hydrated and slightly more resilient. Texture begins to refine.
Weeks 4–6 The most noticeable change appears in this window. Improved hydration, smoother texture, healthier-looking skin. The optimal time for the next session in your course if recommended.
3 months Full effect of the course is visible. Skin quality, radiance, and resilience all improved. Results continue to build with maintenance.
