SkinPen® Microneedling

The foundation of collagen stimulation at SKN Rx. The SkinPen® device creates controlled micro-channels in the skin, triggering fibroblast activation and natural collagen production. The result is improved texture, firmness, and skin quality, achieved without compromising the barrier. Paired with LED therapy and peptide-based regenerative hydration as standard, with the option to integrate polynucleotides or exosome formulations to optimise recovery and results.

Who this is for

Precision microneedling is suited to clients who want meaningful, long-term change in their skin quality rather than a surface-level fix. It works particularly well for:

  • Skin that's lost its smoothness and radiance over time

  • Texture that's shifted and isn't responding to skincare

  • Early signs of ageing — fine lines, loss of firmness, dullness

  • Acne scarring or enlarged pores

  • Skin that needs strengthening from within rather than added to from above

If your barrier is compromised or your skin is currently reactive, we'll prepare it first. Every course begins with an assessment to confirm your skin is ready to respond.

What clients usually ask

What does the skin look like afterwards?

Immediately after treatment your skin will look pink, similar to mild sunburn. Redness peaks at day one to two, then fades to a softer pinkness by day three to five. Most clients are comfortable returning to normal life within twenty-four hours.

Is it painful?

Topical numbing cream is applied for around twenty minutes before treatment, which makes the experience comfortable for most clients. You may feel a light prickling sensation in certain areas, but it shouldn't be painful.

Is precision microneedling suitable for all skin tones?

Yes. It stimulates the skin's own repair process without heat, light, or chemical resurfacing, which means it carries a low risk of pigmentation issues across all Fitzpatrick skin types.

Is it suitable for sensitive or reactive skin?

Sometimes, but not always straight away. If your skin is currently sensitised or showing signs of barrier compromise, we'll address that first before introducing stimulation. The assessment determines whether your skin is ready.

Can I wear makeup afterwards?

Not for the first twenty-four hours. After that, mineral makeup is recommended for a few days while the skin continues to recover. We'll guide you on when it's safe to return to your usual routine.

What to expect after treatment

A clear day-by-day guide to how your skin will look and feel as it recovers and rebuilds.

Day 0 Treatment day. Skin will feel warm and look pink, similar to mild sunburn. Aftercare kit applied before you leave.

Days 1–2 Redness peaks. A pink, glowing flush across the treated area, easily concealable with mineral powder if needed.

Days 3–5 Pinkness fades. Skin may feel slightly tight or peel softly. Avoid actives, retinol, and direct sun during this window.

Week 2 First improvement in texture becomes visible. Most clients say makeup sits better and skin feels smoother.

Weeks 4–6 Visible remodelling. New collagen matures and the most significant change in skin quality, radiance, and texture appears here. This is the optimal window for the next session in your course.

3 months Full effect. Texture refined, scars softened, tone evened, fine lines diminished. Results continue to build with maintenance.
